Application Guide
Application
- Prepare the hair: Wash with a residue-free, sulphate-free shampoo and blow-dry completely. Any moisture or product residue will prevent the adhesive bonding correctly.
- Section: Starting 1–2 cm above the nape, create a clean horizontal parting. Clip remaining hair up.
- Sandwich method: Peel the backing from one weft and place adhesive-side up beneath a thin slice (1–2 mm) of natural hair. Peel the second weft and press firmly on top, sandwiching the natural hair between both adhesive tabs. Hold for 5–10 seconds to activate the bond.
- Work upward: Repeat in rows, moving 1–2 cm up the head. Maintain a minimum 1 cm gap from the scalp. Avoid the perimeter hairline, ears, and nape edge.
- Finishing: Wait 48 hours before the first wash. Avoid direct heat on the bonds.
Removal
- Apply a purpose-designed tape extension remover to each bond tab. Hold the weft gently and allow 30–60 seconds for the solution to penetrate.
- Slide each weft downward in the direction of hair growth — never peel upward or force against resistance.
- Dissolve remaining adhesive with remover solution or lightweight oil (e.g. coconut oil or bond remover spray).
- Comb through with a wide-tooth comb, then shampoo thoroughly.
- Reuse: Clean old adhesive from weft tabs and re-tape with quality double-sided extension tape before reapplying.
Aftercare
- Wash 2–3 times per week maximum using sulphate-free, alcohol-free products.
- Apply conditioner and serum to mid-lengths and ends only — keep away from bonds.
- Brush twice daily using a soft-bristle or loop extension brush, working from ends upward.
- Braid or loosely tie hair before sleep to prevent overnight matting.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to chlorine, salt water, or steam near the bonds.
- Reapply every 5–6 weeks. Lifespan up to 12 months with correct maintenance.
Hair Compatibility
- Straight to wavy hair with medium-to-coarse texture: ideal.
- Fine hair: Use thinner natural hair slices per sandwich and reduce wefts per row.
- Oily scalp: Clarify thoroughly before application; use dry shampoo at roots between washes to prolong bond life.
- Chemically relaxed hair: Perform a strand test before full application.
Troubleshooting
- Slipping bonds: Caused by oily hair, product residue, or insufficient drying. Remove, clarify, re-dry, and reapply.
- Visible wefts: Sections too thick or placed too close to the hairline. Reposition higher with thinner slices.
- Tangling at bonds: Usually from overnight matting. Detangle gently with a loop brush using downward strokes.
- Adhesive residue: Apply remover or lightweight oil, leave 2–3 minutes, comb through, then shampoo.
